Universal Investment Group strengthens management team of German ManCo

- Kurt Jovy and Jochen Meyers join the management board of Universal Investment's German platform
Universal Investment Group has strengthened the management of its German management company (KVG) by appointing two seasoned managers from within its own ranks. Jochen Meyers, Group Head of Relationship Management, and Kurt Jovy, Head of Real Estate at UI BVK KVG, are now part of the management team at Universal-Investment-Gesellschaft mbH (UID).
Universal Investment puts emphasis on expertise and client-centric approach
In October 2024, Jochen Meyers took on the new role of Group Head of Relationship Management, responsible for overseeing all client relationships across UI Group. Meyers, who joined Universal Investment in 2019, was previously Head of Relationship Management for Institutional Investors and brings over 25 years of experience in funds services an relationship management. Mathias Heiss, CEO of UID, said: "Germany remains our home base and the most important market for the UI Group, with ongoing demand for specialised fund services. Our goal is to provide the continuity our clients need to support the growth of asset managers and asset owners alike."
Kurt Jovy has been with Universal Investment since 2021 and takes over the role as Head of Real Estate as Managing Director. With over 25 years of international experience in real estate asset, investment, and property management, Jovy will succeed Axel Vespermann on the Management Board, who will leave on 30 November 2024 to pursue new opportunities outside UI Group. During his five years with Universal Investment, Vespermann made significant contributions to expanding the property business. Mathias Heiß, CEO of UID, expressed his appreciation, saying: "Our sincere thanks go to Axel Vespermann, who, together with his team, increased the fund volume from EUR 20 billion to around EUR 35 billion since 2020. We are delighted to entrust this successful development and its continuation to such an experienced colleague as Kurt Jovy."
