Universal Investment Group will be the anchor tenant of the new Timber Pioneer building at Europa-Allee 92-96 in Frankfurt. The move in date is 1 February 2025. Around 800 of the group's employees will move from its current headquarters in the IBC Tower on Theodor-Heuss-Allee. The company is focusing on collaboration and flexible use of space in its new headquarters. The approximately 8,500 square metre space will feature around 400 workstations in an innovative new work concept that offers employees many places to meet and exchange ideas.
With more than €1.1 trillion in assets under administration, Universal Investment is one of Germany's largest fund management companies. Based in Frankfurt am Main since 1968, it also has fund platforms in Luxembourg and Ireland and offices in London, Paris, Stockholm and Krakow. The UI Group has around 1,800 employees and manages more than 5,000 funds and investment structures for institutional investors and fund initiators in all asset classes, from securities to real estate and alternative investments.
Frankfurt's first timber-hybrid building
The special feature of the new building is its ecological construction: Frankfurt's first hybrid-timber office building saves around 80 percent CO2, 40 percent material and 30 percent transport costs compared to a conventional new building, and was built in half the usual construction time. Compared to a traditional concrete building, the indoor climate is also much more pleasant. In addition, the Timber Pioneer is kept at a comfortable temperature by a cooling and heating ceiling that meets the latest ESG standard. The Timber Pioneer has a gold pre-certificate from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).
